MY REVIEW
This is the sequel to Peeps and it's a very good read. Even though Cal isn't the main character you still get to see some of him towards the end, which made me a lil happy :). This tells the story of a band, Moz the guitar player, Pearl the keyboard player/manager, Zahler the once guitar player now bass player, Minerva the lead singer, and Alana Ray the drummer who drums on paint buckets. Moz and Pearl meet one night when a crazy parasite positive woman is throwing all her stuff out of a window. Moz and Pearl notice her trying to throw a 1975 Strat guitar and together they both save it. Pearl quickly sees she can use him to make a band and together they add more members. Moz adds his best friend who he's been playing guitar with for six years, Zahler. Pearl adds her friend from childhood and former band mate Minerva who is parasite positve. Zahler finds Alana Ray and Moz pays her to play for them. Together they all make wonderful music and it isn't long til they are signed and Moz and Minerva get together. Long after making out with Minerva Moz becomes a parasite positve and learns of the real danger underground, a giant worm who has a taste for human flesh, the reason there are Peeps(parasite positves) to begin with. During their first gig a deadly worm sufaces, they learn all about what is happening in the world. They discover soon after that they can stop the worms with their music.

MY REVIEW
Awesome book, it's a whole different take on the whole vampire story. The story has some very funny parts, my favorite line in the whole book was when Lace said, "Are you saying your fat-ass cat has turned me into a vampire?" That line there gave me a little chuckle when I read it. I've also learned more about parasites reading this book then I have ever wanted to know LOL! It has been a year since Cal has been infected with a parasite that causes what we would call vampirism(but instead of calling them vampires they call them peeps) when he lost his virginity to a woman named Morgan. Now Cal is a carrier, someone who carries the virus but doesn't get all the symptoms like cannibalism, craziness, sensitivity to the light. He works for the Night Watch who are older than the New World, they try to control the spread of the peep causing parasite. Cal is finally done tracking down all of the people he has kissed or slept with(that how he spread the parasite before he knew he was a carrier),except Morgan. When he gets a lead and goes to the building Morgan used to live he meets Lace.Cal soon tells Lace about the parasite and the Night Watch. He soon discovers the secrets of the parasite and it's origins and has to make some new decisions even knowing it could mean an apocalypse.

MY REVIEW
This is the first book in The Drake Chronicles. It was an OK book, I liked it but I also felt it could have been so much better.It's a pretty fast paced book,I read it in less than a day. Solange and Lucy are best friends,only that Solange is the first female offspring of an ancient vampire family and Lucy is a human. Solange has to be careful because she's starting to give off a pheromone that makes male vampires want her. And now that's she's about to turn 16 and into a full fledged vampire, the head female vampire Lady Natasha wants her dead so she doesn't fulfill the phophecy and take the throne. Lucy and Solange's older brother Nicholas, have always picked at each other and fought. Now Lucy has new and strange feelings towards him and can't help but think he feels the same way. One night a Helios-Ra agent(vampire hunter),Kieran, tries to kill Solange and a bounty is put up for her death. Her parents are furious and try to get to the bottom of it,but one night when they are gone Solange is called to meet with Lady Natasha. Her and some of her brothers go only to be ambushed later by vampires and rogue Helios-Ra angents. Soon she is freed by Kieran and they are on the run.Lucy and her Solange's family are worried because in two days Solange will be 16 and without the blood of one of her family member she will die. Most people will like this book,especially people who love romance and vampire books.

MY REVIEW
I really liked this book, it was a fun,fast, and easy read. What if Jane Austen never died and is still around today as a vampire?It's exactly how I imagine Jane Austen would be if she were alive today. Anyone who loves a good vampire book will really like this one. Jane Fairfax aka Jane Austen is living in Brakeston, New York and owns her very own bookstore. She has finally got an offer to have her book Constance published after many rejections. Things seem to be going great until one day she the man who turned her into a vampire(Lord Byron) has come back and won't quit pestering her. She quickly falls for the nice guy in her town(Walter) and can't seem to tell him what she is and who she is.Things get worse when Charlotte Bronte tries to blackmail her by telling everyone she plagiarezed Constance. I'm already looking forward to reading  Jane Goes Batty to see what happens next.

MY REVIEW
This is the first book in the Blue Blood series. I liked this books,it was an easy and fast paced read. It's like Gossip Girl meets vampires, people who love vampire books will more than likely like this book. Schuyler Van Alen is a 15 year old girl in one of the richest private schools in New York City. She soon learns a bunch of classmates of hers are Blue Bloods, immortal vampires that never truly die but come back in different bodies with old life memories(or fallen angels who now drink human blood). Now someone is killing young Blue Bloods by draining their blood and time is running out. That's all I'm giving away,can't wait to read the next one in the series.

I absolutely loved this book!!!!!! I'm so hoping there is a sequel(cuz I haven't seen anywhere on the net confirming a sequel)she left the end defiantly open for one(and I so want to read more)The story begins with introducing us to 17 year old Aden who has 4 spirts(each with a different power) living inside of him since birth. He was given up at the age of 3 by his parents and has been living in foster homes and institutions(people think he's crazy cuz sometimes he talks back to the spirits inside of him) his whole life. Then one day in a graveyard in the new town he lives in he meets Mary Ann and his whole life changes. She somehow makes everything go away(like the spirits in his head while they are together) and he feels a strong connection to her. They quickly become friends and they both learn of a world they never knew full of vampires, werewolves, fairies, goblins, and witches. They meet a vampire princess and her werewolf bodyguard and they begin their quest for answers and figuring out Aden's and Mary Ann's connection to each other. They figure out why there are spirits in Aden's body and how they have to release them(they only release one in this book though).Well that's all I'm gonna give away,go and read it for yourself!!!!!!!!! This book has a lot of cheesy romance moments so I'm gonna warn the guys who hate that stuff lol!

MY REVIEW
This is the sixth book in the House of Night series. I loved it even though one of my favorite characters was killed at the end(it made me sad like when Sirius died in the 3rd Harry Potter book and when Dumbledore died in the 6th Harry Potter book,for those that know me it's a big deal lol)I'm addicted to this series and can't get over it,it's one of my new favorites :) And it majorily sucks that I have to wait like 3 months to learn what happen next. In this book we see through more than just the eyes of Zoey and learn what happens after she banished Kolona to Italy. We see through Stevie Rae's point of view when she finds Rephaim(a raven mocker and Kolona's favorite son) and helps him after he recieves a fatal wounds. We see through the eyes of Rephaim when he helps Stevie Rae when she's in need. We see through Aphrodite's view in one chapter and how she feels about Darius. We see through Stark's(Zoey's warrior) eyes and how he feels when he might be too late to save Zoey. And we see through Heath's eyes when he finds out the truth about Kalona's plans something terrible happens from it. Pretty good read. And now I'm one of those fangirls I'm always complaining about!

 Mother-daughter writing team P.C. and Kristin Cast open up a whole new chapter in Zoey Redbird's complicated life with their fifth "House of Night" novel (St. Martin's Press, 2009). Zoey is a powerful fledging who is training for her conversion to vampyrism at a private boarding school. Zoey and her circle are currently battling evil high priestess Neferet and fallen angel Kalona, who have taken over the Oklahoma House of Night. She is also dealing with power struggles among the other fledglings along with the usual teenage angst that accompanies multiple boyfriends. The plot is zingy and so, for the most part, is the dialogue. The authors go out of their way to recap previous events, which is great for listeners new to the series, but may be annoying to those who already know the back story. They also unnecessarily emphasize gay characters by attaching the adjective "gay" to all of their actions. Narrator Jenna Lamia does a good job, giving each character a distinctive voice and personality, especially Stevie Rae's Oklahoma twang and Aphrodite's very bored delivery. Teens who like vampire stories, romantic triangles, and the backbiting of Gossip Girl will find this title very satisfying.-Charli Osborne, Oxford Public Library, MI

This is the fifth book in the House of Night series. LOVED IT! I really enjoyed reading this,I love this whole series. Finally got my hands on this book(about time cuz whoever had it checked out from the library didn't give it back til it was long overdue) The story starts out with Zoey and the others who escaped from the House of Night on the return of Kalona to the earth. Zoey meets the other red fledglings and find out how they are living. But things don't go good for too long cuz she is attacked by a raven mocker and has to go back to the House of Night to heal or she will die.Once there she meets Kalona and sees the power he holds over everyone.She also meets Stark after his change into a red fledgling and he offers his oath to protect her for life.Then Zoey and her friends figure out what has to be done to get rid of Kalona(for now,cuz you can't kill him)They escape and set their plan into effect. I'm not gonna give too much away cuz if you haven't read it yet you might get mad at me lol! :)

This is the fourth book in the House of Night series. I read this book in one sitting,I absolutely loved it.It's like once I read the first word in the book i was drawn and hooked like a fish lol! Now I definately can't wait to get my hands on the fifth one.The story begins with Zoey's friends hating her for keeping secrets from them for so long(she had to,it's all explained in the previous books) They soon discover the truth and in turn use their goddess given talents to help Zoey in the fight for her life and everyone else's like from an evil angel trapped in the earth for a thousand years by her Cherokee ancestors. But before she can all hell breaks loose. Man I can't get over how much I really liked this book. The mother daughter duo who wrote this are just awesome! Not gonna give too much away(if you haven't read it then do so now)

This is the third book in the House of Night series.I loved it,once I picked it up I couldn't seem to put it down.Zoey Redbird is in her second month as a vampyre fledgling. She's having to keep all these secrets and the only person she can seem to talk to is Aphrodite(her sworn enemy from Marked) She learns that it's hard to juggle 3 guys and that someone is wanting to kill vampyres(2 die by the end of the book)She learns how to help Stevie Rae(her dead undead best friend) and loses more than she bargains when she lets the relationship go further with a teacher(one of the guys she is juggling) at the school. I really don't want to give it all away(it's really hard not to lol) About to start on the next book and can't wait to see what happens :) !!!!!

MY REVIEW
This is the second book in th House of Night series.Overall I liked this book. Zoey Redbird has been at the House of Night school for a month and is finally getting used to it.She's now the high priestess of the Dark Daughters and Sons.She learns that darkness doesn't always equal evil and light doesn't always equal good. She learns to trust the person that made her life hell in the first book and learns dark end evil secrets of her mentor. She finds she likes three different guys and is confused and loses her best friends. I'm about to start on the third and can't wait. So far I really like this series. :) Highly entertaining for me.

MY REVIEW
This is the first book in the House of Night series and I just adored it. It takes vampire(they spell it vampyre in the book) to a new meaning and level. Once I picked this book up I literally couldn't put it down. One day Zoey Redbird is in school when she is marked to become a vampyre. Now in this book you don't have to be bitten to be a vampyre,it's more of like a genetic thing that has to do with their DNA,it can't be cured and it doesn't have to run in families. To help adjust to the change she has to move to a boarding school(one of the House of Night ones) to help cope with it. Some survive the change whiles others die from it. During the book Zoey finds friends,love,enemies, and powers she never knew she possesed

Most of the charm of this long venture into magic maturation derives from McKinley's keen ear and sensitive atmospherics, deft characterizations and clever juxtapositions of reality and the supernatural that might, just might, be lurking out there in "bad spots" right around a creepy urban corner or next to a deserted lake cabin. McKinley knows very well-and makes her readers believe-that "the insides of our own minds are the scariest things there are."

MY REVIEW
I really didn't know I had found such a gem when I checked this one out at the library.This book kept me going from the very beginning.The story centers around Rae aka Sunshine who one days happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and is kidnapped by a group of vampires and chained to a wall in a house by the lake.Her life soon changes and she learns things she never thought possible.I don't really want to give too much away cuz I want people to enjoy what they read(a book is always better when you have no clue what's coming next)I must say I enjoyed the fact that the vampires are different than what most people make them in todays stories about them.They're repulsive but beautiful at the same time. And vampires and humans are enemies here,there's no falling in love with a human here,they have no human emotions.It's also a lil like Buffy the Vampire Slayer in a way.I didn't like the ending though I will admit that, it felt a little rsuhed to me, but I'm definitely now gonna try and read other books by Mrs. McKinley.

MY REVIEW
I read this book when I was like 15 and had loved it then. I honestly can't say the same thing now. Now that I've read it again I don't know what I was thinking the first time. Maybe it was I was a lot younger and hadn't read all the great books I have now to compare it to. First off I don't know where she was going with this one.It went from one thing to another way too fast and didn't explain one damn thing really. You would like there to be a reason for things in this but it just happens.It has a great plot but she did nothing with it. I would sadly give it a D now that I've read it again as an adult.I like Amelia's work but this isn't my favorite book of hers,I much prefer Hawksong to all of her other books!

This has to be my favorite out of the whole entire Night World series by her so far.It reminded me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I liked it. In this one she was better at explaining why things happened. The characters had a lil more depth than some of the other Night World characters.I like where she went with the plot. I wish there was a sequel! I defiantly give this one an A-.She's a pretty good author and she keeps me entertained.

I liked this book. I would give it a B+.I like the plot. I just feel a lil more could have been done. But I was fairly satisified otherwise.Another one of those vampire falls in love with a human story.A friend gave me a bunch of these books by L.J. Smith so I just figured I'd give them a go and read them.I can defiantly say I like L.J. Smith as an author.She has a great imagination!

Fairly good book,not the best,but deifnatly not the worst. It kept me entertained I would give it a B+(I have read a few books by her and it makes me wonder if Stephenie Meyer must have too before she wrote Twilight,some things just seem too similar to me. It might just be me,I don't know. But if someone was copying it wouldn't be L.J. Smith considering her books came out first.)If you're into the whole vampire and human fall in love type of thing then you will defiantly like this book. I know if I had to choose between dying from cancer or becoming a vampire I defiantly would have made the same choice as Poppy(by the way I just love that name)
