The Power by L.J. Smith

They have new covers for the books but I also added the original cover as well.
Author: L.J. Smith
Reading level: Young Adult
Publisher: HarperTeen

Rated 9/10

CAUGHT IN THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL...
Cassie has joined the most alluring—and deadly—in-crowd imaginable. But power comes with a price, and it's more dangerous than she knows. Torn between the dueling desires of the two leaders of the Secret Circle, she must ultimately choose between saving all of the New Salem, and her own dangerous love for bewitching Adam, which threatens to tear the circle apart. In the ultimate battle between good and evil, will Cassie's supernatural powers be strong enough to lead the coven out of danger? Or will she fall prey to the dark forces within?

...WILL SHE SACRIFICE HER LOVE FOR THE CIRCLE TO SURVIVE?

MY REVIEW
The third and final book from The Secret Circle series.I would give this an A-.I liked this but it did get a lil predictable towards the very end and I don't like the ending. I do like the evil character though. You find out the evil guy is her dad,it's kind of a "Luke I am you father moment".Been written way too many times in stories for my taste. But other than that I loved it. Overall I loved the whole series and it made the female characters really empowering and strong, that's something L.J. Smith does a lot in her books.I think most people will like this(well most females lol). Favorite would have to be Diana, she's beautiful, strong, forgiving, smart, fearless, unselfish, and a great friend altogether(she's not the main character but she's still my favorite).

MY REVIEW
This is the second book from The Secret Circle Series.I didn't like this on as much as the first so I would give it a B+.Cassie is blackmailed by one of the members of the club and soon learns what it feels like to betray someone you really care about. An evil is released that is killing people Puritan style(like they did in Salem a long time ago).Cassie learns the truth to why her mother brought her here and loses someone she has come to love.Again if you love L.J. Smith's other books it's more than likely you'll love this one too. It's kind of gets predictable and that's why I didn't like it as much as the first one.

MY REVIEW
It's the first book in The Secret Circle series and it's about Cassie a shy, plain girl who is on vacation with her mother when one day on the beach she meets a boy who awakens something within her(she just doesn't realize it at the moment)She's in for the shock of her life because her mother tells her one day on her vacation they're not going back home but moving in with her estranged grandma she had never met on an island to a town called New Salem. It's a town started after the witch trials of Salem of those who had left. She learns right away at school who's in charge,a group of kids who seem to be called the club. And she soon makes friends with them because of their connection they share from living on the same street in the same neighborhood. It isn't long before things start to happen and that's when we get to the initiation. Well I would give this book an A-.It had some things I didn't like about it but it was fairly good and entertaining. And I thinks most who like these types of books(especially anything else L.J. Smith has written) will like this one too.

The Chosen-L.J. Smith

Armed with a wooden stake, martial arts, and the will to resist a vampire's mind control, Rashel struggles to avenge her mother's death in The Chosen. Then she meets Quinn, her soulmate, who is part of the world she has vowed to destroy

MY REVIEW
This has to be my favorite out of the whole entire Night World series by her so far.It reminded me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I liked it. In this one she was better at explaining why things happened. The characters had a lil more depth than some of the other Night World characters.I like where she went with the plot. I wish there was a sequel! I defiantly give this one an A-.She's a pretty good author and she keeps me entertained.

Daughters of Darkness-L.J. Smith

Fugitives from Night World, three vampire sisters leave their isolated home to live among humans in Daughters of Darkness. Their brother, Ash, is sent to bring the girls back, but he falls in love with their beautiful friend.

MY REVIEW
I liked this book. I would give it a B+.I like the plot. I just feel a lil more could have been done. But I was fairly satisified otherwise.Another one of those vampire falls in love with a human story.A friend gave me a bunch of these books by L.J. Smith so I just figured I'd give them a go and read them.I can defiantly say I like L.J. Smith as an author. She has a great imagination!

Secret Vampire-L.J. Smith

In Secret Vampire, Poppy thought the summer would last forever. Then she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Now Poppy's only hope for survival is James, her friend and secret love. A vampire in the Night World, James can make Poppy immortal. But first they both must risk everything to go against the laws of Night World.

MY REVIEW
Fairly good book, not the best, but deifnatly not the worst. It kept me entertained I would give it a B+(I have read a few books by her and it makes me wonder if Stephenie Meyer must have too before she wrote Twilight, some things just seem too similar to me. It might just be me,I don't know. But if someone was copying it wouldn't be L.J. Smith considering her books came out first.)If you're into the whole vampire and human fall in love type of thing then you will defiantly like this book. I know if I had to choose between dying from cancer or becoming a vampire I defiantly would have made the same choice as Poppy(by the way I just love that name)
