MY REVIEW
This is the companion novel to Life As We Knew It and The Dead & The Gone. I really liked it, it was an awesome book and tied everything together from the other books. I was kinda sad with the way it ended though knowing what happened. Hopefully there will be another book,you never know. The only thing I didn't like is we only got to see everything from Miranda's point of view and nothing from Alex's. It would have been nice to see from both of theirs,she could have switched back and forth between each chapter between the two. The story is told through Miranda's eyes,it's been a year since a meteor hit the moon knocking it out of it's orbit,bringing it closer to Earth, and changing life as we know it on earth. Miranda has kept hope her father is still alive,one day he happens to show up with his wife and their infant son and has also brought 3 more people, Alex and Julie(from The Dead & the Gone) and Charlie. At first Miranda and Alex don't get a long too well but soon they are head over heels for each other. Miranda is afraid of the future and Alex teaches her there is always gonna be a tomorrow,she should live for it, and she shouldn't give up hope. Alex is always worried about Julie and finding a safe place for her to stay,so he decides to leave. Miranda has offered to go with him until tragedy strike and changes hers and everyone elses life.

MY REVIEW
This is the companion novel to Life As We Knew It. I happen to like this book just a lil better than the first one(they both are very good though) This book takes place in New York City instead of Pensylvania like the first. Alex is 17,an overachiever, and works hard at school and work. Then one night a meteor hits the moon and knocks it out of orbit(in this book we just see it through someone elses eyes,in this case it's Alex instead of Miranda) He goes home and thinks nothing of it til at 4 in the morning he is awoken by is uncle to help empty his store of all the food and other valuable stuff. Then he has to learn how to look out for himself and his two lil sisters fast because his mom and dad never come home and are presumed dead. Alex has it very hard and even steals stuff off of dead bodies to use to barter for food in order to have enough to survive. Reading this book and the first one kinda scares me and makes me hope this never happens. It makes me appreciate what I have cuz I never know when I might not have it again. I totally think everyone should read this book!!!!

  Miranda is a normal 16-year-old girl whose main concerns in life are schoolwork, swim meets and whether or not she will be asked to the prom. But Miranda's world is literally ripped apart when an asteroid hits the moon, shifts it from its orbit and throws the earth into chaos. Millions die due to tsunamis and earthquakes. Millions more perish because of an early, devastatingly cold winter, brought about by ash thrown into the atmosphere by hundreds of volcanic eruptions. The story, told through a series of entries in Miranda's journal, chronicles the heroine's and her family's efforts to survive in a world where staying warm and having enough to eat and drink becomes the day-to-day priority. Bauer skillfully captures Miranda's adolescent angst with all its emotional highs and lows. By keeping the narration completely in Miranda's voice, using only slight differences in inflection to denote other characters, Bauer manages to convey the sense of Miranda herself reading her most intimate thoughts to listeners. It is a fine performance that only enhances Pfeffer's thoughtful, heart-wrenching novel.

MY REVIEW
I really liked this book. It's very well written and it scared the crap out of me to think this prolly could happen.Miranda is a 16 year old girl that lives a very normal teenage life til one night a meteor hits the moon and knocks it out of it's orbit bringing it closer to earth. Then the world changes very quickly. There are tsunamis and earthquakes right afterward. School is eventually cancelled for that year and things start to get worse. Gas goes up and Miranda is very lucky her mom bought a hell lot of stuff when she did right after cuz the stores all close down. Volcanos go off all over the world making the skies gray and it harder to breathe outside and blocking sunlight, meaning the world can not grow anymore produce. In the summer it's extremely hot and in the winter is is extremely cold. There's no electrity or gas anymore. People left and right are dying. I suggest you read this only if you don't become too scared or worried easily.
