Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause

Author: Annette Curtis Klause
Reading level: Young Adult
Publisher: Delacorte Books for Young Readers

Rated 8/10

The first cover is the one on the book I read, but I also love the newer cover(it's pretty) so I added it on here

Vivian Gandillon relishes the change, the sweet, fierce ache that carries her from girl to wolf. At sixteen, she is beautiful and strong, and all the young wolves are on her tail. But Vivian still grieves for her dead father; her pack remains leaderless and in disarray, and she feels lost in the suburbs of Maryland. She longs for a normal life. But what is normal for a werewolf?

Then Vivian falls in love with a human, a meat-boy. Aiden is kind and gentle, a welcome relief from the squabbling pack. He's fascinated by magic, and Vivian longs to reveal herself to him. Surely he would understand her and delight in the wonder of her dual nature, not fear her as an ordinary human would.

Vivian's divided loyalties are strained further when a brutal murder threatens to expose the pack. Moving between two worlds, she does not seem to belong in either. What is she really--human or beast? Which tastes sweeter--blood or chocolate?

My Review
I liked this book,it was a fast paced and interesting read(I read it in one night). For those females that love werewolves you'll like this.Vivian is a junior in high school living in a new town because the last place she lived they were targeted for being werewolves and their houses burned(that's how her father leader of the pack died)She's living with her mother and attending school where she meets Aiden(a human) and falls hard for him. She decides to show him her true self because she thinks they are in love. He freaks out and the next day she learns there has been a dead body found and she thinks it's her doing. I liked this book and it kinda made me feel for Vivian and what she went through after she tried to show the boy she loved her true form and he rejected her. I obviously didn't give too much away her cuz you'd probably love it more reading it for youself. I watched the movie today on youtube thinking that maybe it would be good like the book. It wasn't,just warning those who read the book and want to watch the movie. The movie totally destroys the plot of the book and sucks majorly!!!!
