Rated 9/10

The moment the new guy walks into the room, Kate senses something strange and intense about him. Something supernatural. Her instincts are proven correct a few minutes later when, bullied by his classmates, Jarrod unknowingly conjures up a freak thunderstorm inside their classroom.
Jarrod doesn't believe in the paranormal. When Kate tries to convince him that he has extraordinary powers that need to be harnessed, he only puts up with her "hocus pocus" notions because he finds her captivating. However, the dangerous, uncontrolled strengthening of his gift finally convinces Jarrod that he must take Kate's theories seriously. Together, they embark on a remarkable journey — one which will unravel the mystery that has haunted Jarrod's family for generations and pit the teens against immense forces in a battle to undo the past and reshape the future.

MY REVIEW
I really liked this book. I'm not gonna lie it took me a lil while to get into it but when I did I couldn't put it down. It's got romance for those that love it, and what can I say I'm a sucker for romance and dueling for a lady! Kate and Jarrod meet at school on his first day when Jarrod uses the powers he doesn't know he even has and Kate takes him to her grandma(Jillian) to be looked at. Jarrod's whole life he's been super clumsy and his family has endured bad luck, moving from one place to another because of it. Kate's only familiy is Jillian(her grandma),they live together as witches. Kate tells Jarrod he's powerful and his family is cursed. Jarrod thinks she's crazy until his father tries to commit suicide. Together, with the help of Jillian, they travel back through time to defeat the powerful man who put the curse on his family only to have him kidnap Kate and force Jarrod to duel with him for her and his own life.
